Cynthia: The entry on the Food Timeline suggests that the story about Romans breaking bread over a bride's head was fabricated in Victorian England. The Timeline offers histories of cakes in general, but has a specific entry on wedding cakes -- which adds that cakes have always been part of any big party. As for the cake-eating iguana video -- it would certainly make that moment even more memorable. Good reason to have an indoor wedding if you live somewhere with iguanas. comment left May 13 |
